The Hungaroring circuit was built in 1986, specifically for Formula One racing in Budapest.he first Hungarian Grand Prix took place on June 21, 1936 over a 5 km track laid out in Népliget, a park in Budapest. Teams from Mercedes-Benz, Auto Union, and Ferrari participated in the event which gathered a large crowd. However, politics and the ensuing war resulted in the suspension of the Formula One Grand Prix in Budapest for 50 years.
